In a pulsating final, Mart & Nick overcame hot favourites Geoff Goater & Ron Wilkinson with a sensational pot on the final pink.
Geoff & Ron had topped the league table with five straight wins including a veritable thrashing of Mart & Nick in the earlier stages of the competition. In the final, however, the stamina of the younger runners proved conclusive as did the quantity of Lager consumed.
